Website Problems Fixed – I Hope!

Thrive Themes, Windows Updates

I hope my struggles with building out this website are over.

There was a steeper and more frustrating learning curve than I expected after switching from the Word Press Theme Astra to Thrive Themes. I paid a not insignificant sum of money to get the website built out from what I originally had and to get trained on using the Thrive Theme Builder and the Thrive Theme Architect from a very nice, very patient web pro named Jen Hart of Hart Media here in Las Vegas, NV.

What I did not anticipate were the complications that arose from having Host Gator running a way outdated version of Word Press and PHP (vers. 5.6.2) by default and all the complications caused by the incomplete and missing Windows Updates on my two year old Dell laptop, or compatibility troubleshooting for the latest versions of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome (my two most preferred browsers).

But now that Host Gator has this site running on the latest version of Word Press and PHP (vers. 7.4) and I’ve SEQUENTIALLY updated Windows 10 with the big feature update in October 2020, the smaller but critical, so called optional May 2021 update, and the latest July 2021 update that fixes the Print Spooler bug, I seem to be able to finally run Thrive Themes Architect on my laptop!

Yaaaaay!

I’ve been wanting to comment on the new Biogen Alzheimer’s drug since it received FDA approval. Spoiler alert: I’ve got some MAJOR concerns about it.

Expect my next blog post on that very subject tomorrow after I verify that everything I accomplished today stays accomplished tomorrow.

I’m either getting old or technology is getting harder. Know what I mean? 🙂
